DDG Urges Fans To Poorly Review Nail Salon For Allegedly Kicking Out His Girlfriend Halle Bailey + Owner Posts Emotional Response, Placing Blame On The Actress & Her Sister For Being Late
YouTube star DDG doesn’t play when it comes to his boo Halle Bailey.
The entertainer recently incited his followers to destroy the review section of a nail salon’s business page, accusing the owner of being racist towards his girlfriend.
It seems the incident first went public when DDG, real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., 26, took to his X account (formerly Twitter), writing in a now-deleted post obtained by The Neighborhood Talk:
“this place is racist towards black people.. they kicked my girlfriend out while doing her nails.. please give them a 1 star.. they don’t deserve business.. ‘Perfect Nails'”
DDG also attached a link to the nail salon’s Yelp page, which subsequently was flooded with negative reviews. It seems the comments became so bad so quickly that the platform removed the ability for individuals to comment any further. In a message posted to Perfect Nail’s page, Yelp wrote:
“This business recently received increased public attention resulting in an influx of people posting their views to this page, so we have temporarily disabled the ability to post here as we work to investigate the content. While racism has no place on Yelp and we unequivocally reject racism or discrimination in any form, all reviews on Yelp must reflect an actual first-hand consumer experience (even if that means disabling the ability for users to express points of view we might agree with)”
It’s unclear how long user comments will be deactivated from the page. However, both Halle Bailey and the nail shop owner have spoken publicly about the incident, and it doesn’t appear the dispute was racially motivated as DDGÂ suggested. Halle Bailey, 23, took to her socials to explain that she booked an appointment for her and her sister, Chloe Bailey, and informed the salon beforehand that she’d arrive on time, but her sibling would be running late.
Halle claimed that they agreed over the phone that 10-15 minutes late would be fine, but was met with aggression after she arrived. According to Halle, the woman providing the service repeatedly questioned her about her sister’s whereabouts and soon angrily asked “How long,” prompting the Disney star to become irritated. She explained:
“No one is in the this place its empty…I’m like ‘okay she says she’s like 9 minutes away’ and then she starts giving me faces like 9 minutes isn’t going to work”

She continued:
“I have been a consistent customer here for the past few weeks. I brought them so many people…I just can’t believe that they’re acting this way over 9 minutes”
Halle went on to state the the woman continued “going at” her before telling her that her sister’s appointment was canceled. According to Halle the two left the salon shortly after Chloe arrived, in the middle of her getting serviced, and vowed not to return again.
However, according to the nail shop owner Leyla, Halle was told up front if Chloe was more than 15 minutes late she wouldn’t be serviced.
In a tearful video explaining her version of what happened, Leyla denied there was any racial motive behind the incident and claimed it’s the company’s policy not to see anyone who arrives outside of the grace period. On the salon’s official instagram page they even updated their bio seemingly to further refute the notion that Halle was discriminated against because of her race.
Meanwhile in the comments, the salon continued to argue their innocence. In response to DDG’s allegations they wrote:
“We have proof that we were fully booked and we couldn’t accept a client who was late 35 minutes! We really don’t make different, all clients for us same. We respect all our clients! When Halle started her service, and it was already 20 minutes since her appointment started, we already informed her that we can’t take her sister! At the end her sister was late 35 minutes! We apologised and just said we can’t provide service, in 25 minutes we have next client. This is our business, we work with clients, we can’t refuse service we get paid for that! We work so hard to get more clients, not to loose them!”
DDG seemed not to care much for the explanation, however, commenting to the video of Leyla crying with a “cap” emoji and following up on X with:
“good job thank you”
And:
“ask me if i give a f*ck..”
Halle gave one final comment about the situation and said,
“y’all it is not that serious i just was explaining my day on snapchat and did not name any names .. we went to another salon and still got our nails done beautifully lol everyone be nice to everyone and calm down about some nails please”
