The Weeknd’s Humanitarian Organization Donate’s $2.5 Million To Feed Citizens In Gaza Facing Starvation
Super star singer The Weeknd just made a major contribution amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
Reportedly, the 33-year-old donated funds to provide 4 million meals to those suffering in Gaza as the Middle Eastern war continues.

The contribution was reportedly made to the United Nations World Food Programme. Reportedly, the group has been relentless in their efforts to help feed victims of war in the Gaza strip. In case you’re unfamiliar, millions of Palestinian citizens have been left with little to no food or water as their basic resources have been cut off by the Israeli government. As a result of Israel’s ongoing war with the militant group Hamas, many innocent Gaza civilians have been subjected to death and starvation. The country only recently agreed to a temporary ceasefire, after millions banned together around the world to protest their treatment of the Palestinians. However, the truce was broken before the 7 day agreement was fulfilled, leaving Gaza citizens once again in the midst of peril.
It seems The Weeknd’s donation comes at an opportune time. Back in 2021 the pop star, real name Abel Tesfaye, was reportedly named a Goodwill Ambassador to the WFO US and established his XO organization as part of the partnership. To date, the entity has reportedly raised nearly $5 million to aid emergency situation across the world. It’s reported that the financial sum will bring food to more than 173,000 Palestinians for two weeks, and will constitute 820 metric tons of food parcels.

Reportedly Corrine Fleischer, Director of WFP’s Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe Region’s released a statement celebrating The Weeknd’s donation, stating:
“This conflict has unleashed a humanitarian catastrophe beyond reckoning. WFP is working round the clock to provide aid in Gaza but a major scale up is needed to address the desperate level of hunger we are seeing. Our teams need safe and sustained humanitarian access, and continued support from donors to reach as many people as we can,”

Adding:
“We thank Abel for this valuable contribution towards the people of Palestine. We hope others will follow Abel’s example and support our efforts.”

It does not appear The Weeknd himself has spoken publicly about the donation at this time.
