Today (Jan. 17) the first trailer for the rapper’s Netflix comedy series titled “The Vince Staples Show” was released. The 60-second video gave a glimpse at the five-episode comedy series, which is set to officially drop on February 15. Reportedly, the scripted show stems from the rapper’s YouTube series of the same name. In 2019, Vince Staples released a few fictional comedic videos centered around a day in his life. One of the episodes features a trip to the barbershop that ultimately ends with “THE BEACH” artist in a heated brawl. Another episode shows Vince Staples jumping out of a window to avoid a confrontational conversation with a girl he was seemingly dating.
As previously reported, In 2022, Netflix teamed up with Vince to create his series on a larger scale. Alongside the Compton native, Kenya Barris will also serve as one of the series’ executive producers. Vince’s co-stars are Vanessa Bell Calloway and Andrea Ellsworth. Viewers can also expect to see a cameo from Rick Ross and recurring appearances from Naté Jones, Arturo Castro, Scott MacArthur, Bryan Greenberg, and Myles Bullock.
Vince has now joined the list of rappers who star in a comedy series.
