Umar Johnson Claims Kamala Harris Offered Him $10,000 For An Interview + Calls Out Steve Harvey & Rickey Smiley For Allegedly Being Paid To Guilt Black Community Into Voting For Her

Umar Johnson appears to claim he was offered money for a sit-down with presidential hopeful Kamala HarrisBut many fans don’t think it really happened.

On Thursday (Aug. 15), Umar Johnson posted screenshots of text messages to his X (formerly Twitter) account that appeared to show someone from Kamala Harris‘ campaign reaching out to him. In the messages, the person alleged they were a member of Kamala Harris’ campaign and saluted Umar Johnson for being “a big part of the black community.”

They asked if he would be interested in doing an interview via Zoom, and noted that he would be paid “for about an hour of your time.”

In Umar Johnson’s screenshot, he replied to the text and first made it clear, “I’m not interested in your money.”

He added that he was “very interested” in having a “conversation with Vice President Harris to discuss our needs and her plans for the Black community.”

Laying out his conditions, Johnson said the sit-down would have be aired “to the national Black community” and not prerecorded. He added,

“I promise to be completely respectful of the Vice President but I will ask direct questions about miseducation, mass incarceration, police brutality, economic strangulation, gentrification/migrant crisis, reparations & and the need for a federal anti-Black Hate Crimes Bill.”

Though Johnson laid out his ideal conversation with Kamala Harris, he also said in a video that he was offered $10,000 for an interview with Harris. He called out comedians like Rickey Smiley and Steve Harvey for allegedly being paid to guilt others in the Black community into voting for Harris.
