Critics Call For The NFL To Separate From Jay-Z After He’s Accused Of Sexu@l Ass@ult In Civil Lawsuit

Some are calling for the NFL to walk away from its partnership with Jay-Z.

The backlash stems from the Roc Nation founder being named in a civil lawsuit alongside jailed record executive, Sean “Diddy” Combs. As reported, the men were accused of raping a then-13-year-old girl in 2000.

Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter wasted no time denying the claims and calling out the lawyer representing the alleged victim, Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, for “blackmail.” However, despite his statement expressing his innocence, some have demanded that the NFL end its partnership with Jay-Z.

As reported, in 2019, Jay’s Roc Nation inked a deal to serve as the league’s Live Music Entertainment Strategist. In October it was announced that the parties extended the agreement. Details surrounding the new deal are limited but the initial contract — meant to boost “the NFL’s efforts around social justice” and help with “the league’s endeavors in music and entertainment” — was reportedly worth $25 million.
