‘Love Island USA’ Star Jeremiah Brown Explains How Cast Learned Yulissa Escobar Was Removed Amid N-Word Backlash: ‘They Said She Left For Personal Reasons’
Love Island USA contestant Jeremiah is speaking out about how the villa learned Yulissa Escobar had been removed from the show.
In a TikTok chat with journalist Speedy Morman, Jeremiah said the cast was told Yulissa left for “personal reasons.” He explained that one day they just woke up and she wasn’t there… no big announcement, no warning.

Yulissa’s abrupt exit came during the June 4 episode, just one day after Season 7 premiered on Peacock. While the narrator said, “Yulissa has left the villa,” viewers weren’t given a reason at the time. However, off-screen backlash had begun over resurfaced podcast clips of Yulissa using the n-word.
Did production handle this the right way?
