Former NBA Star Sebastian Telfair Begins 6-Month Jail Stint Over Fraud Case Probation Violation, Pleads w/ Trump For A Pardon
Sebastian Telfair is spending some time behind bars, and he’s hoping Donald Trump steps in before he finishes his six-month sentence.
The former NBA star reported to Fort Dix FCI earlier today (August 13) after violating the terms of his supervised release in connection with an NBA healthcare fraud case. Telfair was originally sentenced to time served and three years of supervision after reaching a plea deal, with prosecutors recommending 15 to 21 months. However, according to Sportico, he failed to complete his community service and missed required check-ins with the U.S. Probation Office, resulting in his parole being revoked.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Sebastian called the situation “definitely some bulls**t” and pleaded directly to Trump: “Trump, go check in on my story, and you’re definitely going to want to pardon me.”
He added: “You’ll hold me accountable and want me to continue to do good. But I did too good to be sending anybody to jail.”

Telfair blamed the violation on paperwork issues, claiming: “It was super unfair.”
He’s one of 18 former players charged in a $2.5M scheme that defrauded the NBA’s health and welfare benefit plan, a case that also saw NBA champ Glen “Big Baby” Davis sentenced to 40 months in 2024.
Telfair went on to say that if a pardon doesn’t come through, he plans to use the time to grow and stay focused, saying: “We definitely have got some wins coming.”
Do you think Sebastian will get his pardon from Trump?
