BRAVO Announces 3 New Reality TV Shows: ‘Taking Atlanta’, ‘Married to Medicine’ + ‘Don’t Be Tardy’
Hold onto your reality TV seats, Bravo has snagged three brand, spankin’ new reality shows–all out of ATLANTA. To date, the popular southern city has launched popular shows like Real Housewives of Atlanta, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, and R&B Divas, but there’s plenty more from where that came from. Compliments of AJC, we’ve got the skinny on the three new shows titled: ‘Don’t Be Tardy,’ ‘Married to Medicine’ and ‘Taking Atlanta’. Here’s the scoop on each:
- ‘Don’t Be Tardy for the Party’: Duh, we already know what this one’s about and after we learned that Kim Zolciak’s leaving RHOA, it makes perfect sense. The show will follow Kim’s professional and family/home life. And here’s the releases description:
“Season two follows Kim and Kroy Biermann in the next phase of their marriage, which involves the demands of their ever-growing family, purchasing their dream house, and a possible adoption. The pressure is on as Kim tries to resolve extended family issues and manage the renovation of their house all while juggling being a loving mother, a caring wife and staying in the limelight.”
- ‘Married to Medicine’ appears to be a show about educated, rich and affluent women who are connected to the lucrative world of medicine. Peep an excerpt of the release:
“Married to Medicine” follows a group of successful and educated women, including doctors and wives of doctors, who are connected to the world of medicine in Atlanta. Whether delivering babies in Louboutins or rushing off to galas in Buckhead, these women do everything with style, drama, and of course, southern flair.
- ‘Taking Atlanta’ seems to be a younger version of RHOA, as the cast/characters work in industries like entertainment, real estate, etc. The release describes:
“Taking Atlanta” tracks the city’s next-generation movers and shakers as they make their mark in the glamorous arenas of fashion, music, hospitality and real estate while enjoying the city’s sizzling social scene and balancing the demands of their tumultuous family situations.”
If you’d like to snag a role, rumor has it that there’s still time. Production has not yet begun and casting is under-wraps. Anywho, what are your thoughts on the newest reality TV shows? Sound interesting or an over-saturation of the ATL reality market?

Can we get a show that is not based around people in the ATL.
*hangs head* sheesh, there are other cities…well I take that back. Ppl in fakelanta want to be seen sooo bad. I might give 2 of the 3 a chance. Tired of “close your legs to married men.”
I live in Atlanta, and Real Housewives of Atlanta DOES NOT represent Atlanta. Anyone I know, who has any sense, would not be on a reality show in the first place, but hopefully these shows will have white people on them, and not all black people. Talk about reverse discrimination! Every show based in Atlanta, whether it is a reality show or fictional television, makes it looks like no one but black people live in Atlanta.
***YAWN***
Sorry none of the above sound interesting. Especially Kim’s show, we have already seen her in action, but I guess if she keeps Sweetie on, people might watch to see how bad she continues to treat her. To the average person glitz and glamour is not reality. What’s exciting about a doctor who wears louboutins and goes to galas. And hasn’t Taking Atlanta been done on a different name/perspective BET or another network? I cannot recall the name of the show about young black professionals. But, I guess to show the lives of everyday people is not interesting enough for TV because too many people can identify with it. Unfortunately, too many of us cannot identify with the so-called reality of these scripted shows.
Oversaturation of the Atlanta market. Isn’t anything else happening in other parts of the country? Not only that, but unless Atlanta starts to actually stay live past 9pm, none of these shows will seem realistic. People move to Atlanta to settle down, that is not where the “party’s at”.
