[New Music] Kevin McCall feat. 2 Chainz ‘Sweetest Joy’ + ‘Definition’ Track List
Just in time for Valentine’s day, as he promised, Kevin McCall is gearing up to release his third mix-tape, Definition. This week, we actually got a chance to listen to it the studio and can honestly say, the Los Angeles native has produced a gumbo mix of R&B. With features from 2 Chainz and Travis Porter, musically Definition includes everything from club-bangers, to (*ahem*) sounds to get intimate (that’s me putting it nicely) or tip at the strip club (pick your own vice….there’s no judgement, here)…he even feeds your reality TV addiction with a tracked called ‘Basketball Wives’. The official tracklist has been released and mixtape drops tomorrow. In the meantime, listen to ‘Sweetest Joy’ featuring 2 Chainz. Check back later for the link and interview.
And in more music news, Mary J. Blige is covering the latest (February-March 2013) issue of Vibe Magazine. Check some of our favorite excerpts…
On when she feels most beautiful:
When I’m made up and dressed up and my heart is in the right place… [When] I feel happy. I’m not going to lie and say I feel beautiful when I have on a hair scarf and I’m running to the gym. I feel confident, but beautiful? No.
On why ‘people’ give Rihanna a hard time:
They give her a hard time because she’s living her life. As long as she’s having fun and isn’t three minutes away from wanting to shoot herself, good! I want her to be happy. That’s impressive to me. And I love her songs. Adele also gives me hope. God bless Amy Winehouse. She was just the perfect thing.
On social media, at times, is on some ‘ole hate mail type mentality (like how I rephrased that…maybe not LOL):
Get a life! People take so much time and energy hurting other people. Social media is full of hate mail. And you’re like, “Wow, this is how you spend your day?” No wonder the world is messed up. The only difference between you and that other person is their perspective on life. If you say you don’t have anything, you won’t have anything. The tongue is a serious weapon. You can use if for good. You can use it for bad.
