Jennifer Williams Snagging New Reality TV Show With Mona Scott-Young + Barbara Walters Announces Retirement
Looks like former Basketball Wives star Jennifer Williams just couldn’t get enough of the reality TV world. Rumor has it that she’s currently in talks for her own VH1 reality show. At the The Gossip Game premiere in New York, the New Jersey native revealed that she will be working with reigning reality show diva Mona Scott-Young on a new TV venture. Jennifer opted not to return to Basketball Wives after season 5, during which she had a HUGE disagreement with former bestie Evelyn Lozada, while going through a nasty divorce with her husband former NBA baller Eric Williams. Jennifer is dating music producer Cisco Rosado (who worked with LHHNY’s Tahiry on the song ‘Devil’) and has a lip gloss line with Lucid Cosmetics. No word on when the show will premiere but we will keep you posted. And in other news….
After 52 years in the game, veteran news personality Barbara Walters is retiring. The 83-year-old, co-creator and host of ‘The View’ has joked about retiring many times, but she will officially leave the air May 2014. Prior to her departure, ABC is planning a years worth of specials about her iconic career. Walters was the first woman to co-host a news program as a news anchor with the Today show.
She was also the first to co-anchor an evening news show with ABC news. She is regarded as a pioneer for women journalists. Walters has had quite a few health scares in recent years further fueling the retirement rumor mill. Earlier this year she suffered from a concussion and chicken pox and in 2010 she had heart surgery. In 2008, Barbara published her memoir, ‘Audition: A Memoir’ chronicling her career and personal life. Earlier this year it was announced that Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasselbeck were leaving ‘The View’ with the only remaining hosts being Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd. The show is on hiatus and will return next week.
