EXCLUSIVE! Tom Cruise: 1 BILLION Legal Victory in Mission Impossible Suit
He claimed in the court documents that Cruise, Paramount Pictures and other production companies were infringing on his screenplay Head On with their film. He explained that he sent the script to William Morris Agency, only to have them pass. However, he claimed, they then sent it on — without his permission — to another agency, CAA.
William Morris “then shopped the script around the world,” the court documents claimed, “including Tom Cruise’s Rick Nicita, top agent with Creative Artist Agency.” Nicita’s wife, Paula Wagner, is one of Cruise’s production partners. He claims nobody responded to his script until he noticed it on the big screen and realized his work had been stolen.
He filed suit against Cruise for 1 BILLION dollars, the sum of Ghost Protocol‘s theater ticket sales ($694,710,000), DVD and blue ray sales ($144.5 million), movie rentals and subscription sales and budget ($145 million).
Then on July 3rd , the federal court judge presiding over the case dismissed the suit claiming McLanahan failed to follow the court procedures and failed to comply with his orders … so as a result his legal action was dismissed and he was awarded nothing. Read the exclusive court documents.
