[EXCLUSIVE] Darryl Strawberry – Government Seizes All His Retirement Savings Over Unpaid Taxes
On July 30th, a federal court judge ordered that due to Strawberry being in debt to the United States for unpaid taxes for the years 1989, 1990, 2003, and 2004, the rights to the retirement payment plan and all the money due to come in per that agreement were transferred to the Federal Government.
The order states that the Feds are to auction off the plan to the highest bidder, with the minimum bid starting at 550k. The winner of the auction will be paid every payment left on Strawberry’s deal with the NY Mets, which will run until 2034 with him being paid $8,891.82 a month– having over 2 million left on the plan to be paid out.
The auction date will be set shortly and Uncle Sam will finally collect on the debt. See the EXCLUSIVE Court Documents (Part 1) and Part 2.
