(EXCLUSIVE) Rapper Jim Jones Ordered to Pay $150K Judgement to Ex-Business Partner
Celebrity Music Group said they discovered Jones used the $200K they paid him to fund his own mixtapes and create a Vampire inspired clothing line, that was suppose to be tied into the film. They filed suit demanding $700K in damages from the rapper.
Last December, docs were filed in the case that showed the company served Jones with the legal paperwork. Despite being served with the court papers, Jones reportedly refused to respond or appear in court to address the allegations.
On February 17th, the judge granted the entertainment company’s motion for a default judgement.
According to court records, a hearing was held on the same date in which the judge asked the company if Jones performed the duties he agreed to per the contract. The company explained that the rapper had not, despite taking $200K from them.
The judge ordered Jones to pay Celebrity Music Group 150k and a separate entity Sally Ruth Ester Publishing is to pay 50k to the company. The case was closed the same day. See the exclusive court docs.
