(EXCLUSIVE) Sources Say Soulja Boy Fired After Threatening Nia Riley With Gun, Rapper Responds Says Producers Are Lying
Soulja Boy Fired After Threatening Nia Riley With Gun, Rapper Responds
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports new details have surfaced surrounding Souja Boy’s exit from Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. Earlier this week, Soulja announced on Twitter that he quit the show. He wrote:
I’ve decided to quit Love and hip hop. I feel my brand is too big for the show now. It’s too ratchet. I have my own new tv show coming soon!
However, sources tells theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively that he was actually fired from the show.
Soulja Boy didn’t quit. He was fired after he threatened Nia (Riley) on social media, pulling out a gun.
The source continues,
That was the last straw. What he did was irresponsible, dangerous and producers considered that a threat. His behavior got him fired.
An insider says that the network and higher ups were livid when they saw what he had done.
That’s not the brand that VH1 nor the franchise wants to have. They had to fire him. If anything had happened to Nia, they would have felt partially responsible for not intervening.
As you’ll recall, we reported that back in August, Soulja Boy, posted a video threatening Nia, along with rapper Skrill Dilly, whom Soulja thought Nia was dealing with. [Click here for the backstory on their split and social media beef]. See the clip below.
We’re told that the entire situation, video included, got him axed from the hit show. Meanwhile, executive producer Mona Scott-Young, sorta kinda confirmed him being fired when she reposted a message, from another Love & Hip Hop producer, that read:
IF I EVER GET FIRED I’M GONE TELL PEOPLE I QUIT TO PROTECT MY BRAND
Soulja was not invited to the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood reunion.
Update #2. Soulja Boy gave us an exclusive statement, responding to this allegation. Read his response below.
[I] Left the show; it was too ratchet. Now Mona [Scott-Young] is saying I was fired, but I never received a notice that I was not part of the the show anymore until after I said I quit on twitter. I have my own show coming soon with all my celeb friends that’s going to be huge. It was just too much drama and violence on that show. I have to protect my brand.
He also shared a photo of a Thank You note from producers after the season, telling us:
I got fired? But she sent me this for season 4. So who’s lying?
