Love & Hip Hop’s Jonathan Fernandez – I Was Racially Profiled!
Love and Hip Hop New York cast member Jonathan Fernandez says that he was allegedly racially profiled at a clothing store called Zadig and Voltaire in New York City. This week, he took to Instagram Live to not only publicly state that the store racially profiled him, but also confront the exact worker who accused his friends of stealing from the store.
In a day where racial tensions are at an all-time high, many celebrities are speaking out against being mistreated or followed in stores. Jonathan always believed that “maybe people were in the wrong place at the wrong time” when it came to racial profiling, but now that he’s a victim, he realized that’s not always the case.
Reggaeton artist Solomon Ray took to Twitter to express that the clothing store should be ashamed of themselves and rectify the discriminatory situation as soon as possible. He even went on to tag columnist and activist Shaun King to alert him about the situation.

@zadigetvoltaire Please rectify this situation and adhere to discriminatory laws. Also- cause I’m shady, research the Latino and Black dollar and see how far it goes. I hope to hear from you soon. ? Btw, this happened to @imsojonathan. @ShaunKing @latinorebels @efniksdotcom
The clothing store Zadig and Voltaire have yet to issue an official statement.
