Miami Duo ‘The City Girls’, Sign Big Deal with Capitol Records
Girl groups are special and rare. When things work out, it is beautiful. However, when things go wrong it can be all bad. The City Girls are a duo comprised of J.T. and Yung Miami, who met eight years ago in Miami, Florida. The ladies rise has been relatively quick, but when it is hot it is undeniable. J.T. says,
It be the people you grew up with who question your blessings. Still to this day I’m in disbelief, but I bet we wont fumble!
In December, Love & Hip Hop Miami star and platinum recording artist, Trina gave the City Girls a big co-sign during a Hot 97 interview. She said of the duo,
There are these two girls out of Miami they just got signed to Quality Control and when they came out it just reminded me of me, way back when I came out with Trick. Most of the people in Miami are hating, but why are you hating on to young girls that are trying to do something that’s positive. They just did a record and the record caught fire… You just never know how something is going to happen.
The ladies released their debut mixtape ‘Period’ on Quality Control Music last month. The 16 track project has been well received, and music videos for their ratchet anthems, “I’ll Take Your Man”, “Tighten Up” and “Where The Bag At” are in heavy rotation.
The City Girls have reached another milestone in their short careers, as they recently celebrated signing a big deal with Capitol Records. Pierre “Pee” Thomas of Quality Control Music posted this caption with a video of the girls signing the contracts in the legendary Capitol Records Tower
building in Hollywood, California,
“I Never Announce Deals But I Wanted To Show Them Off Cause Now They Got More Money Than The People Who Hate On Them @citygirls#ChaseYourDreams @qualitycontrolmusic”

Congratulations to the girls on the new deal.
