Mo’Nique Denies $10 Mill Netflix Deal, Tells Lee Daniels ‘Shut Up’
Mo’Nique Sends Message to Lee Daniels, Responds To Rumors of $10 Million Deal w/ Netflix
Rumor has it Mo’Nique signed a $10 million deal with Netflix, but according to the comedienne herself, that rumor is untrue. She took to Instagram to dispel the latest hearsay, and to send a message to Lee
Daniels. As she stands on a balcony, she begins her message,
Hey, my loves. So I gotta address this $10 million Netflix deal. What’s a word that rhymes with jokes, but starts with an H? Y’all got it. It’s a goddamn hoax. That is not true my babies.
She added,
Now just like that lie can become the truth within 24hours – just like they can make something like that up – they can something up like your girl is difficult and demanding.
She concludes,
So this is what I’ll say to y’all, the truth only goes away if we stop talking. And y’all know I ain’t gon’ stop talking, and Lee Daniels, you shut up.
She captioned the video,
NETFLIX DEAL. Get it straight from me. ‘Lee Daniels behave’ LOVE YALL FOR REAL.
Earlier this year, Mo’Nique came forward to ask the public to boycott streaming giant, Netflix for gender and color bias. In her original speech, Mo’Nique says she was offered a $500k deal for a comedy special. Her comedian counterparts, Amy Schumer was offered $11 million, while Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle were offered $20 million for their comedy specials.
Netflix still has yet to respond.
