Queen Latifah Stands By Jussie Smollett – Until I Can See Some Definitive Proof – I Gotta Go W/ Him Until I See Otherwise
The Jordyn Woods/Tristan Thompson cheating scandal managed to take the heat off the biggest story at the moment, the attack on actor Jussie Smollett, which is still taking several unexpected twists and turns. While it may seem like a majority of the general public is condemning Smollett, he has a few celebrity friends in his corner, including actress/rapper Queen Latifah.
Just after Jussie Smollett’s Empire co-star Terrence Howard came to his defense on social media, another high-profile celebrity is supporting him—the legendary Queen Latifah. Latifah says that Smollett continues to have her support through all of this drama until she sees proof that he was the one who staged the attack on himself back in January.
Latifah also spoke highly of Smollett’s character, which is why she doesn’t believe he was capable of staging the attack:
“The guy I’ve seen has always been someone who cares about people, who cares about others, and who’s very kind and who’s always been cool and sweet. And that’s just the guy I know. So until I can see some definitive proof — which I haven’t seen yet — then, you know, I gotta go with him until I see otherwise.”
She admitted that the whole ordeal is puzzling, adding:
“I don’t even know what to make of it. All I know is that I hope everything works out in the end and everybody basically comes out unscathed.”
Latifah and Smollett have worked together in the past, specifically during the crossover episode between Empire and Latifah’s show Star, which air back-to-back on Wednesday nights on FOX and produced by Lee Daniels. Both shows will have spring premieres airing March 13th.
