Don Lemon Says He Was Called A ‘F***ot’ While Filming Show, Adds Battle W/ Trump Takes A Toll On Him
Don Lemon might be loved by many, but one critic insulted him with homophobic slurs recently. During a conference on Thursday, Lemon opened up about how he’s become a target for supporters of President Donald Trump.
He provided an example and said he was out shooting for his show on CNN when he was approached. A man then said,
“We built this country. I can’t wait for CNN to fire your black a**, you f***ot.”
He said his open battle with the President,
“take(s) a toll on me, on my privacy and safety and security, and the safety and security of my family.”
He said one Trump supporter calls him 300 times a day to express how much he doesn’t like Lemon. He said some people go further and send hate mail to him after finding out his address.
“People call the authorities and accuse me of doing certain things. I wonder how long I will continue to do this particular job in the way I do it. It ain’t easy, but I don’t plan to give up.”
Lemon’s feud with Trump sparked in 2016 when Trump was running for President. Trump called him
“a lightweight. Dumb as a rock.”

Those comments came after a segment about Trump’s comments concerning is then-opponent Hillary Clinton and the Second Amendment.
Just last month, Trump tweeted that Lemon is,
“the dumbest man on television.”

He also had a few words for Lemon in August after his sit-down with Lebron James.

In that interview, James spoke on Trump and reiterated why he thought Trump is a “bum.”
What do think about hate being sent Don Lemon’s way?
