Ouch! Golden State Warrior superstar, Kevin Durant was escorted straight to the locker room for further evaluation following a play that re-injured his right leg in the 1st half of an intense Game 5 against the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. After being ruled out for the remainder of the game, the Warriors rallied to beat the Raptors, 106-105 swinging the momentum as the Finals heads back to the Bay Area with the Raptors leading their NBA Finals series, 3-2.
I’m just so damn sad right now. The Finals: Ruined! I wanted to see @KDTrey5 come back so badly. He was ballin, too. En route to dropping 40 the way he was looking. Then this. Damn! Damn! Damn! pic.twitter.com/Uxlyd1jInf

In post game, Warriors general manager Bob Myers announced the 2-time NBA champion will have an MRI on Tuesday to determine the next step for Durant. According to ESPN, the Warriors believe the MRI will confirm an Achilles tear that could sideline the Warriors superstar all the way into the next season.
“The Warriors believe Kevin Durant’s MRI on Tuesday will confirm a torn right Achilles’ tendon.”
Durant left ScotiaBank Arena in the third quarter, using crutches and wearing a walking boot on his right leg. GM Myers was reportedly very emotional as he spoke about who should take blame for Durant’s injury. Myer says,
“He was cleared to play tonight. That was a collaborative decision. I don’t believe there’s anybody to blame, but I understand in this world and if you have to, you can blame me. I run our basketball operations department. And to tell you something about Kevin Durant, Kevin Durant loves to play basketball, and the people that questioned whether he wanted to get back to this team were wrong.”

“Dub nation gonna be loud as f*ck for Game 6. I’m hurting deep in the soul right now, I can’t lie but seeing my brothers get this win was like taking a shot of Tequila. I got new life lol.”
As the former NBA MVP collapsed to the floor in pain from his right leg injury, many Raptor fans took enjoyment watching one of the Warriors most valuable players being walked to the locker room. Golden State teammate, DeMarcus Cousins spoke to reporters following the game on how he felt as fans cheered. He says,
“Trash. So trash. Like I said, we’re only idolized as superstar athletes. Not human beings.”
