Nicki Minaj Isn’t Banned From ‘The Breakfast Club’, But Her Ex Safaree Samuels Is
The Breakfast Club is setting the record straight after Nicki Minaj claimed she was banned from the radio morning show.
Angela Yee said,
“Nicki Minaj is not banned at all, unless there’s something I’m not aware of.”
DJ Envy added,
“I didn’t ban her.”
He said at one point they did refuse to play her music, but have since started again.
“She’s never been banned. Nobody ever said she can’t come up here.”
He also said that they play her single with Megan Thee Stallion, Hot Girl Summer, in the mix every morning since it’s release on Aug. 9.
Charlamagne then joined in and added,
“What part of I love you Nicki Minaj don’t you understand? Nicki has never been banned. That is a bold-faced lie. I’m not saying we text and we talk on the phone all the time, on the regular, but if Nicki has an issue she’ll call me.”

While Nicki is more than welcome, they also made it clear her ex-boyfriend and reality star Safaree isn’t. Charlamagne said,
“Now Safaree is banned.”
DJ Envy co-signed that Safaree isn’t allowed to come to the show.
Samuels tweeted that he was banned back in May.

It hasn’t been confirmed why, but speculation says it’s because Samuels is engaged to Erica Mena, who is history with DJ Envy. The two allegedly had an affair back in 2013, despite Envy being married. Mena also publicly criticized Angela Yee and went up to the Breakfast Club allegedly threatening physical violence against the radio host.
