Tamar Braxton Says ‘People Were Being Catty Behind My Back’ On ‘The Real’, Ladies Respond: It’s Been 3 Years, Why Are You Guys Still Talking About This Situation
Tamar Braxton hasn’t been on daytime talk show The Real since after its second season. She made it clear she was blindsided after she was let go in 2016. But three years later, the drama with the ladies might still be going strong.
The latest started during Braxton’s appearance on The Wendy Williams Show Wednesday (Sept. 18). Williams asked Braxton if she would ever return to the show. Williams said,
“Cute show, but they need you. And you were done dirty.”
Braxton kept it classy and said,
“I love you. I love you.”
She then hinted that she would be used as a marketing tool and added,
“Here’s the thing. No shade, but I just wish everyody well. I just feel like sometimes God has to move you out of situations before you become more toxic to yourself. What if I was in a situation where I’m doing [Braxton Family Values] and it’s very stressful, and I’m doing this other show where people are being catty behind my back. What kind of person would I be right now, sitting on this couch? I wouldn’t be focused. I wouldn’t be ready for my transformation. I wouldn’t be ready for my elevation. And that’s where I go to go. I gotta go up and up and up and up.”
Interestingly enough, The Real aired right after Williams in some markets, and the ladies addressed Braxton’s comments.
Loni Love said,
“We were just watching Wendy live. Hi, Wendy. First of all, thank you for calling us a cute show. We’re also an Emmy winning show. So don’t forget that sis. Tamar Braxton was your guest and we appreciate the fact that you brought us up. I just want to be… full disclosure, it’s been three years. I don’t know why you guys keep talking about this whole situation.”
Adrienne Bailon mentioned that the ladies have not spoken about Braxton getting fired on the show. Loni agreed and added,
“Tamar Braxton gave us an apology [this summer] for everything that happened, which these girls at this table had no issue of doing. Since then, that apology has been taken down. I, in my humble opinion of trying to be the strong black woman, invited her to come on the show for season six. It was a simple, public ask. I did try to call her privately. I’ve been texting her. I get no response. So I just put it out there.
The show has reached out to her. Tamar nobody is trying to use you as a marketing tool sweetie. You apologized to us over the summer, and we just thought to close this loop… Just like Wendy did yesterday with NeNe [Leakes], that’s all that’s the intention my dear. You are still welcome anytime. It’s not a big deal. Seriously, we as Black women have to stick together. We as women have to stick together. Okay? It’s no pettiness, it’s just… we need to have you come here so we can close the circle. You apologized, we opened it up to you. It is still there, and it will always be there. We love you Tamar. You are a powerhouse. We know, you know us.”
Bailon added,
“You know us. You know who we are, you know our hearts. And I think when you apologized, we were like man.. that’s really all I’ve ever wanted was an apology.”
Tamera Mowry-Housley chimed in and said,
“It’s unfair… Everybody who’s closet to me knows that truth. And what I don’t like is that out there. The lies… My reputation is not one of cattiness.
Loni added that she was “hurt” at the accusations that she got Braxton fired.
Mowry-Housley said she knows Loni didn’t get her fired.
“We had no idea. There was no ill intention. There was no meeting.”
Bailon also responded to critics’ questions of why they didn’t leave the show when Braxton was let go. She said she would if the tables were turned and she was fired, she would never want anyone to leave what they worked hard for because of her.
What do you think about Tamar’s comments and ‘The Real’s’ response?
