LeBron James Narrates Nike’s Inspirational Commercial To End ‘Humble Beginnings’ [WATCH]
NBA’s LeBron James stars in the latest Nike ad that features the decorated NBA champion’s “Humble beginning” story -from growing up as a unprivileged kid in Ohio to his dominance at the highest level. In the video, LeBron narrates through his 17-year career while highlighting one of his greatest achievements off the court with his ‘I Promise School.’ He writes,
“17 years ago Nike took a chance on a kid from Akron. And 17 years later this has given me the ability to provide opportunities for my 1400 kids in Akron so that one day NOTHING is left to chance. They will KNOW that a kid from Akron is something special!!! #ThekidfromAKRON”
More importantly, the Nike ad ends with LeBron touching on creating more opportunities for the younger generation who can relate with growing up with little to no resources for a better future.
“We always hear about an athlete’s humble beginnings, how they emerged from poverty or tragedy to beat the odds. They’re supposed to be stories of determination that capture the dream. They’re supposed to be stories that let you know that people are special.”
He adds,
“You know what would be really special? If there were no more humble beginnings.”
