Joe Biden: I’d Take Michelle Obama In A Heartbeat To Be My VP
Since Joe Biden is the assumed Democratic nominee for President, many are wondering who he’ll select as his running mate. The former VP vowed during a debate earlier this year that he would choose a woman to serve alongside him as Vice President.
It was only a matter of time before speculation guessed if former FLOTUS Michelle Obama would step into that role, especially since her husband, ex-President Barack Obama recently showed his support for Joe Biden.
When asked about his potential VP, he said he couldn’t promise that it would be a woman of color, but kept his vow that it would be a woman.
“I’ll commit to it [being] a woman. I think it’s very important that my administration look like the public, look like the nation. I committed there will be a woman of color on the Supreme Court, doesn’t mean there won’t be a vice president as well. In terms of who to pick, we’re just beginning the process…”
As for whether Michelle Obama could be an option, Joe Biden laughed and said,
“I’d take her in a heartbeat. She’s brilliant. She knows the way around, she’s a really fine woman.”
Meanwhile, former candidate for Georgia governor Stacy Abrams said she wants to be considered as well.
