Zaya Wade Strikes A Pose In Recent Post Promoting Her Dad’s Miami Restaurant

Zaya Wade, 12, shared a series of photos on her Instagram page and IG stories posing in front of a beautiful sunset. On Zaya Wade’s page, she posted a video of herself posing on a balcony with the caption,

“800 [fire emoji]”

The 800 is in reference to the black t-shirt Zaya Wade is wearing, which is to promote local Miami restaurant 800 degrees. 800 degrees was a partnership between Zaya’s dad, retired NBA player Dwayne Wade, and his former Miami Heat teammate Udonis Haslem.

The teen also posted a series of Instagram stories in front of the sunset, along with one photo with her dad Dwayne Wade.

Zaya Wade’s dad and stepmom, actress Gabrielle Union have openly been supportive of Zaya ever since Dwayne revealed on the “Ellen Degeneres Show back in February that Zaya (born Zion) identified as female.

Zaya was born a boy, but now identifies as a straight transgender – meaning she identifies as a young woman and is romantically attracted to boys. D. Wade explained:

“[She’s] known it for nine years, since she was 3 years old…Zaya started doing more research. She was the one that sat down with us as a family and said, ‘Hey, I don’t think I’m gay.’ And she went down the list and said, ‘This is how I identify myself: I identify myself as a young lady. I think I’m a straight trans, because I like boys.’ It was a process for us to sit down with our daughter and find out who she is and what she likes and not put something on her. We decided to listen to her and she’s leading us on this journey.”

In early March it was reported that Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union made time to support their 12-year-old child Zaya at a school performance. In one clip, the children’s choir channeled their Kanye West Sunday choir and sang a handful of gospel songs.

The Wades also attended the 2020 Truth Awards in support of The Better Brothers Awards ceremony highlighting the accomplishments of the Black LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Zaya presented who she called her “Chosen Godfathers,” stylist Jason Bolden and his husband Adair with the Business Leadership Award.
