Rapper Sheck Wes Arrested On Gun Charges

Rapper Sheck Wes is said to be facing 2 felony charges after an arrest where a gun was allegedly found.

According to reports, he was behind the wheel of a 2019 Lamborghini SUV when police pulled him over, along with three friends who were also in the car.

Police then searched the vehicle after reportedly smelling marijuana coming from inside. They reportedly found a small bag of marijuana and a 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol, which was loaded. He and one of his friends were charged with possession of a loaded firearm and criminal possession of a weapon. He wasn’t charged for the marijuana, but he was reportedly cited for not having his license.

Sheck Wes was released on his own cognizance, without having to pay bail. His attorney Scott Leemon said in a statement to TMZ,

“This morning, Judge Moyne, in the Manhattan Criminal Court released Sheck Wes on his own recognizance, with no bail. His case was adjourned to August. During that period, we will conduct our own investigation into the charges.”

Last year, Sheck Wes made headline news after Los Angeles District Attorney decided not to charge the rapper after his alleged physical abuse against ex-girlfriend, singer, Justine Skye.

Justin Skye has since moved on, focusing on her music. This month, the songstress released a new single entitled ‘No Option‘ about heartbreak.

Sheck Wes took to his Instagram to speak about his recent arrest.  The rapper also posted a photo that said,

“I DO NOT DO DRUGS THE SCOUTS KNOW THIS”

In a video posted to Sheck’s Instagram story, he updates his followers by saying,

“Everybody, this is Sheck Wes.  I’m not locked up, I’m not in jail right now.”

In another story, he goes on to say,

“I am a good kid from Harlem, who’s able to change his life. Able to do good for his self, his family, his community.  I feel like, all the time I get this image painted of me of a bad crazy kid.  I get this image painted of me because I’m young, I’m black, I’m African, I’m Muslim.  I can’t be perfect.  I can’t be whatever.  I always gotta be one thing or I gotta be the next thing, you know what I’m saying. I don’t know.  Y’all just don’t want me to just be peaceful and good.”

No further updates have been made about this case.
