Kim Kardashian West, Kanye West
Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian West has also been doing some advocacy and seeking out protestors that have been injured during the protests.
Kim Kardashian West has asked her followers via Twitter to sign a petition in hopes of getting Willie Simmons released from prison. Simmons has been incarcerated for almost 40 years for a $9 robbery.
In her tweet, which included a link to a petition for Willie Simmons, West said:
“Please sign this petition! Willie Simmons has served 38 years for a $9 robbery”

The petition site, Change.org, states that Willie Simmons is an Army veteran that was prosecuted under Alabama’s habitual offender law, in 1982. He was convicted of 1st-degree robbery and sentenced to life without parole for stealing $9. Prior to his conviction, Simmons had reportedly been arrested three times, one for grand larceny, and the other two from receiving stolen property. Simmons had allegedly become addicted to drugs, while he was overseas. Now, Kardashian is using her platform to help get Willie Simmons released from prison after spending 38 years behind bars for his crime.
Kim has also used her platform to help advocate for some women that she wants to help release from prison such as Tynice Hall, Judith Negron, and Crystal Munoz.

Kim is also offering to pay for an injured protestor’s medical fees after seeing her story on Twitter.
“This is heartbreaking and so disturbing. Does anyone know how I can get in contact with her? I would love to help her with her medical care if she needs it.”
