Joe Biden: I Don’t Support Defunding The Police
Former Vice President and current presidential hopeful Joe Biden has recently shared his stance on defunding the police departments across the nation. While doing an interview with CBS in Houston on Monday (June 8th) Joe Biden said,
“No, I don’t support defunding the police. I support conditioning federal aid to police based on whether or not they meet certain basic standards of decency and honorableness. And, in fact, are able to demonstrate they can protect the community and everybody in the community.”
Following his remarks, his campaign spokesman, Andrew Bates, released a statement to farther explain Joe Biden’s comment towards why the police should not be defunded.

The social debate to defund the police stems from the unjust death of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. Since the unfortunate incident, many people have been calling for the government to stop financially backing police departments.
Celebrities have even started to weigh in on the topic. Singer SZA recently tweeted about her support for defunding the police even though her uncle is a cop in Ferguson, Missouri. She tweeted
“My uncle is a black officer in Ferguson .. I love him .. so much. Still gotta defund the bih”

Insecure actor Kendrick Sampson also shared his support in defunding the police departments while showing the bruises he received while protesting against police brutality.
