Tina Lawson Lashes Out At Hate Against Beyonce: The Girl Is Constantly Working For Our People! Nobody Made You The Activist Police!
Mama Tina is done letting trolls talk about her baby! Iconic singer Beyonce and her circle of family and friends have been known to blatantly ignore internet haters for nearly the entire two decades of her career, but lately, her mother, Tina Lawson, has been biting back at hateful social media users. Last month, Beyonce urged her millions of fans and followers to sign a petition demanding justice for George Floyd – drawing even more attention to the cause. However, people still somehow found fault in her actions. Tina Lawson hopped in the comments:
“How about listening to the message! Instead of looking for something to complain and hate on . How many of you complainers have signed a petition called the District Attorney or any government official?”
Queen Bey was later accused of appropriating African culture with the announcement of her Disney Plus exclusive movie, “Black Is King.” Tina Lawson defended her daughter:
“It’s really sad that the women who shout the loudest “protect the black woman” that they are the ones that are trying to tear her down…She minds her own business , does not criticize anyone, Gives of her time and money , and dedicates her art to Boldly show the Royalty and beauty of our heritage and journey ! Her work is to change the narrative! To show that we did not start off as slaves , but that we were kings and queens before we were forced into slavery…She employs African and African-American people , fights for many “first” in the fashion and film world . Take an inventory of yourself and your hate . Where is it coming from ? I ask you to examine your heart and really take a look at what your motive is and what it’s fueled by!…Stop being a social media terrorist to the wrong people ! Redirect that passion for change in that !!! Use your energy and great intelligence to fight people who choose to be oppressors. Beyonce is not your enemy!! But you would swear that she was!…how do you appropriate the black culture when you are black?? She has a right to her heritage as well as anyone else in the world.”
Tina recently sat down with Vivica A. Fox on her “Hustling with Vivica A. Fox” podcast to double down on criticism against Bey’s activism:
“…I’ve been wanting to get this off my chest…She’s not that out-front, telling you everything she’s doing- but the girl is constantly working for our people. She is constantly giving back. Her money, her time, her energy, and one thing I do wanna say to young people is that we have to stop being so critical of how people protest [and] how they process things because everybody is not the same.”
She continued:
“Whatever you did all worked in tandem and worked together to get the results that we got. We have to stop being so critical of other people and what they do, and try to dictate- because nobody made you the activist police. There is no monopoly on activism. It’s done in many, many ways.”
