Tiffany Haddish On Why She Shaved Her Head: I Wanted To Know Who I Am From Head To Toe + Says Boyfriend Common Cuts Her Hair For Her
Funny woman, Tiffany Haddish, seems to be having a great time getting to know more about herself since she shaved her head last month. The comedienne appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and opened up about the decision behind the big chop.
After being complimented on her “non-hair” style, she explained that her boyfriend, Common, is helping her keep it up.
“Thank you, I’m loving it too. My man cut it for me last week. I’m, like, cutting it every two weeks.”

She continued to reveal the reason behind cutting her hair.
“I’ve always wanted to do it. For years I’ve been talking about cutting my hair, and you know, this whole quarantine and everything made me think like, ‘Well why not now?’ I’m not gonna be on any red carpets, and if I do have to be on something, they’re always putting me in wigs anyways. And the wigs sit better.'”
She expressed,
“I wanted to know what I look like from my head to toe, like, who am I from head to toe. You know, every religion talks about knowing thyself, and I know where all my moles are except the ones on my head, and now I know I got two moles on my head.”
The actress, whose Netflix comedy special, Tiffany Haddish: Black Mitzvah, has been nominated for an Emmy, took to her Instagram last month to cut her hair off while live streaming for all of her fans to see.

She said during the big chop:
“I’ve been talking about it for years, everybody [has] been trying to block it. I ain’t letting it happen no more. No more blocks.”
While she received a lot of support from her fans, others thought it may have been a cry for help, even suggesting that she may be going through a mental breakdown.
In true Tiffany Haddish fashion though, she hopped on her Instagram to shut down the rumors stating,
“N***as said ‘Somebody go check on sis, something’s wrong with her. What’s wrong with her mentally? She done lost it.’ Why, when a woman decides, ‘I’m going to cut my hair off because I want to see my scalp,’ she gotta have a mental problem? Nothing is wrong with my brain, guys, I’m suffering from no emotional s**t, nothing. I literally been talking about this for years, how I want to see my scalp. When we cut all my hair off imma still be fine as f**k, n***as is still gon’ try to f**k guys don’t worry. There’ll be plenty of d**k for me and it will grow back. Let’s just be honest, as a black woman — I don’t know about white women — but as a black woman, that’s a good hour to three hours of your f***ing day. Even if your hair is braided, you gotta grease your scalp, you gotta tie ’em up at night, you gotta make sure they look neat, it’s a lot of work. So, I’m taking time off!”
