Azealia Banks’ Former Manager Sues Her For Extortion, Claims She Threatened Him & His Family

Rapper Azealia Banks appears to be in the hot seat once again as her former manager, Jeff Kwatinetz, has reportedly filed a lawsuit against her, alleging that she’s threatened his lif and the lives of people close to him. He also claimed she harassed him regarding a royalty issue. Azealia Banks signed a contract with Prospect Park, a management agency run by Jeff Kwatinetz, in 2014, but he reportedly let her go just months later because she refused to promote her debut studio album “Broke with Expensive Taste”.

Azealia Banks took to social media in June to request help from than rapper and actor Ice Cube to get her royalties. Jeff Kwatinetz and Ice Cube co-founded the popular basketball league, BIG3 together. She asked Ice Cube to use his influence to help her out. In her posts, she says that the money allegedly taken from her was the money her prior label, Interscope/Polydor, had paid to produce the album. She wrote:
“This white man robbed me and dropped me in the middle of shooting a movie because he felt I was being too vocal about police brutality. Ice Cube, if you have any ounce of care for how hard it is to be a black woman alone in this industry PLEASE BEG JEFF KWATINETZ TO RELEASE MY ROYALTIES.”
Jeff reportedly alleges that some of Azealia encouraged her fans to go after him as she allegedly
“threatened the lives of Kwatinetz and his wife and young children, and posted photos of herself outside his home in Los Angeles shortly before an attempted robbery of that home.”
She also allegedly said she would leak his address on social media and accused him of being behind actress Brittany Murphy’s passing in 2009. 
He claimed she: 
“coordinated campaign of extortion…[to receive] money to which she is not entitled.”
At this time, there are no specific details on the amount of money being asked for in the suit but there reportedly is a clause requesting that she stay away from him and his family. Jeff has reportedly said her claims are “lunatic rantings” and feels that her social media posts have increased in their threat level over time, which is what reportedly led him to file the suit.

This is not the only time that Azealia’s been making headlines recently. The “Heavy Metal and Reflections” rapper told her followers that her mother accused her of being on drugs via text message. She says their strained relationship contributes to her stress:
This is also why im extremely stressed out 24/7.  My mother has been wishing death on me, saying ‘I’m a piece of sh*t just like my father’ since I was three years old.  This is an extremely toxic relationship I have to cut off.  She’s using the potential deaths of my other two dogs chicken and salt as collateral YET AGAIN.  If anyone want to adopt them in NYC I will let you know where she drops them because I can’t be dealing with this same abusive sh*t from childhood if I plan to get ahead and evolve.  I am done with this.
