Cam Newton Reportedly Tests Positive For COVID-19
After President Donald Trump shocked many with news that he and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19, NFL star Cam Newton might be the latest celebrity to get the coronavirus.
Several teams for the league increased testing for players and staff after an outbreak among the Tennessee Titans, and the New England Patriots quarterback is one of the people whose test reportedly came back positive, according to ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The New England Patriots released a statement and said one of the players tested positive but didn’t name who.
“Late last night, we received notice that a Patriots player tested positive for COVID-19. The player immediately entered self-quarantine. Several additional players, coaches and staff who have been in close contact with the player received point of care tests this morning and all were negative for COVID-19.”

The statement continues:
“We are in close consultation with the NFL, as well as our team of independent doctors and specialists, and will follow their guidance regarding our scheduled trip to Kansas City and game against the Chiefs. The health and safety of our team, as well as our opponent, are of highest priority.”
Cam Newton will reportedly be out of Sunday’s (Oct. 4th) game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He has not confirmed reports yet.
