Kanye West Might Run For Governor If He Doesn’t Become President
If Kanye West doesn’t make it to the White House he may still have plans for politics. As you know the, the 43-year-old rapper and artist is running in this election. He recently shared that if he doesn’t win, he’s open to running for governor of California similar to Ronald Reagan. He says,
“If it’s in God’s plan that part of my path is to be the governor then that’s fine, but my calling is to be the leader of the free world.”
Meanwhile, this won’t be his last time running for president. Kanye says that he plans to run again in 2024, perhaps under a different political party.
“I’m definitely 100% winning in 2024 – I was thinking I would possibly be the Democrat.”
On July 4, 2020, Kanye officially announced on Twitter that he would be running in the 2020 presidential election. He later announced that his running mate will be Wyoming preacher Michelle Tidball, and that he would run as an independent under the “Birthday Party”,
“because when we win, it’s everybody’s birthday”.
On July 15, 2020, official paperwork was filed with the Federal Election Commission for West, under the “BDY” Party affiliation amid claims that he was preparing to drop out. West held his first rally that weekend, on July 19.
West’s platform has advocated for the creation of a culture of life, endorsing environmental stewardship, supporting the arts, buttressing faith-based organizations, restoring school prayer, and providing for a strong national defense, and “America First” diplomacy. In July 2020, West told Forbes that he is ignorant on issues such as taxes and foreign policy. On September 4, 2020, it was reported that West, who had supported President Donald Trump, reportedly received assistance from Republican operatives in securing ballot access in some states, and has not denied that he would be a spoiler candidate in the presidential election.
