Boxing Star Gervonta Davis Named As Driver In November Hit-And-Run That Injured Three
Gervonta Davis is being identified as the driver in a November hit-and-run accident in downtown Baltimore that injured at least three people. New details of the crash report have been released this week. As previously reported, the 26-year-old professional boxer was involved in an accident on November 5th where he allegedly ran a red light and struck another vehicle. Davis was the driver of a 2020 Lamborghini Urus that crashed into a 2004 Toyota Solara. According to police, Davis and a passenger reportedly exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Police identified Davis as the driver of the Lamborghini Urus based on witness statements and surveillance video.
The Toyota passengers included two women aged 18 and 19 and two males aged 20 and 18. All were taken to University Hospital for their injuries. Although police have identified Gervonta Davis as the person at fault of the accident, the boxer has not been charged with a crime, and a police spokesperson said the investigation is “still ongoing.” Baltimore police department’s chief spokesperson said:
“The investigation into the hit-and-run accident is still ongoing. The department has turned over findings to the state’s attorney’s office, and we are working closely to gather and determine any charges that may be pending as a result of this incident.”
The accident took place just five days after Davis defeated Leo Santa Cruz in a match that ended with a knockout in the sixth round. The fight was Davis’s first as a pay-per-view headliner. He improved to 24-0 and also retained the World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight title while winning the WBA super featherweight title.
