Omari Hardwick Ranks His Show ‘Power’ Against ‘Snowfall’ and ‘The Wire’: I Would Put Us #2 And I Would Give ‘Snowfall’ #3
Actor Omari Hardwick recently shared his thoughts on his hit TV show Power which he played lead character, “Ghost” for six seasons. While Power was highly loved by TV viewers and social media, other popular shows like Snowfall are starting to make a name for themselves, naturally causing fans to compare. During a recent interview with “The Higher Learning Podcast”, Omari Hardwick was asked to rank TV shows, Power, The Wire, and Snowfall. Omari Hardwick expressed that Power was “dominant” for several years.
” …We were dominant as f*ck for four seasons. I think that Snowfall, shout out to our beloved late and great John Singleton– I’ll say that it’s a fascinating thing, story wise as to what they created, so I’ll give it a great ranking but it can’t be in the ranking of those two that have tried, tribulated, and now done.”
Hardwick clarified that he is not including the Power spinoffs in his ranking. He explains that while he thinks Snowfall is a great show, it still needs more time to prove its longevity.
“I can’t say on the list would be Snowfall at this point because it’s still running and still balling and still trying to figure out the crossover and the fade away. They ain’t proven all that yet. But I would say consistently speaking, convoluted story line, on both sides: cops, the wire tap, the government officials over the cops, the drug dealers, the family members of the drug dealers. They [The Wire] consistently showed up in the writers room, in the acting, in the crew, the way it was shot. To me, they edged us out by a season. Because I think we [Power] were dominant for four seasons in a very beautiful, handsome, stunning way. “
Omari Hardwick goes on to give his ranking of the three popular shows.
“In terms of our force as crew, as producers, as writers, as actors, as the network, we rocked out in a way me as an ex athlete would judge four seasons. The Wire gave us five [seasons] so I gotta say The Wire is there I would put us #2 and I would say Snowfall is a very-which is a compliment because they’re still rocking- I would give them #3.”

The Wire is an American crime drama series created and primarily written by author and former police reporter David Simon. The Wire premiered on June 2, 2002 on HBO and ended on March 9, 2008, comprising 60 episodes over five seasons. The Wire is admired for its literary themes, its uncommonly accurate exploration of society and politics, and its realistic portrayal of urban life. Although during its original run, the series received only average ratings and never won any major television awards, it is now widely regarded as one of the greatest television shows of all time.
