Lauren London Talks Her Return To Acting After Nipsey Hussle’s Passing: It’s Important For My Sons To See Me Moving Forward With Grief

It looks like Lauren London is ready to get back into her acting career.

It has been a little more than two years since Lauren London‘s fiancé Nipsey Hussle was gunned outside of his South L.A. clothing store, Marathon Clothing. Since then, Lauren London has focused on grieving and being there for her children, placing a hiatus on her acting career. However, with the upcoming release of Without Remorse, Lauren will soon grace the screen once again.

In Without Remorse, which is based on Tom Clancy‘s 1993 novel, London stars alongside Michael B. Jordan and plays his character’s pregnant girlfriend. It is scheduled to be released via Prime Video on April 30th.

Ahead of the film’s release, London revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she began shooting her scenes back in 2019, shortly after Nipsey Hussle‘s murder. Explaining how she became involved with the project, London recalls:

“Michael [B. Jordan] reached out to me as a friend and he was so unsure if I was even going to ever work again. And he was like, ‘Look, I’m unsure if this is what you want to do, but I have to follow my intuition, I have to ask you if can you just read the script.'” 

She explains that, while initially unsure of taking on the project, she eventually came around to the idea of getting back into the acting craft, explaining:

“I felt like I could truthfully contribute to this project.”

London also touched on the importance of being able to continue with one’s life in the aftermath of tragedy, stating:

“We can’t stop, you know? We do have a purpose, all of us, and it’s important for my sons to see me moving forward with grief, not just curling up in a ball, because I curled up in a ball for a long time.”

London and Nipsey Hussle welcomed son Kross in 2016. She also shares son Kameron, 11, with rapper Lil Wayne.

In addition to Without Remorse, London is also known for her roles in ATL, Entourage, and The Game.
