Rihanna Fans Disappointed In Her Reaction to Violence In Palestine
Songstress and Fenty Beauty creator Rihanna is under scrutiny for a post she made to social media. The post addressed her sentiments regarding the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The post’s caption reads:
“I stand with humanity! This ain’t it y’all!”
Rioting, mob violence, and murder between Jews and Arabs have torn through towns and cities across Israel. Rockets from Gaza and Israeli airstrikes continue to kill civilians.
According to reports from The New York Times, Israel said it’s assassinated 10 senior militants and continued to fund both military and residential areas across the Gaza Strip with airstrikes, while Hamas, the Islamic group that rules Gaza, and its allies continued to fire rockets into civilian areas across central and southern Israel.
More than 1,000 rockets have been fired from Gaza by Wednesday [May 12th] night, most of which were intercepted by an anti-missile defense system, according to the Israeli military.
Much of the violence has played out on the streets as rival Jewish and Arab mobs attacked people, cars, shops, offices, and hotels.
The fatality numbers are staggering. More than 67 Palestinians, 16 of them children, have died since the start of the conflict on Monday [May 10th].
As of now, there are no signs of the conflict letting up anytime soon.
Fans have taken to social media to express their extreme disappointment in Rihanna’s post, many saying she took an “All Lives Matter” approach. Take a look:
