‘Black Panther 2’ Has Officially Started Production In Atlanta, Marvel Head Says ‘It’s Very Emotional Without Chadwick Boseman’
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the highly anticipated sequel to the Oscar-winning film Black Panther, started production yesterday (Tuesday, June 29) at the Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Black Panther was a huge hit that released in February 2018 and grossed a worldwide total of $1.347 billion.
Ryan Coogler has returned to direct the sequel and everyone from the original cast is also reportedly coming back with the exception of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick Boseman starred in the first film as Black Panther however, the talented actor died in August 2020 after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

During a recent interview with Variety, Marvel Studios chief, Kevin Feige spoke on how the atmosphere has changed without Chadwick around. He said,
“It’s clearly very emotional without Chad. But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to debut next year on July 8, 2022. According to reports, the project is one of 26 upcoming titles on Marvel Studios’ slate for theatrical release and streaming on Disney Plus. There’s also a reported upcoming TV series set within the world of Wakanda that is part of a multi-year overall television deal Ryan Coogler and his Proximity Media signed with The Walt Disney Company this past February.
