Damon Dash Erupted In An Explosive Rant During A Meeting W/ Roc-A-Fella Amid Legal Battle, According To Jay-Z’s Lawyer
Damon Dash‘s feud with Roc-A-Fella over Jay-Z‘s Reasonable Doubt album is escalating!
As previously reported, Damon Dash was sued by Roc-A-Fella Records for attempting to sell the digital rights to Reasonable Doubt, as well as his 1/3 share in the company. In response to the lawsuit, Damon Dash blasted Jay-Z, saying:
“He lying. That’s a whole lie. Jay owns one-third of ‘Reasonable Doubt’... And the thing is I own a third of Roc-A-Fella Records and I can sell my third if I feel like it. Jay himself tried to buy my third and it was a crackhead deal. He offered [it to] me like I was Pookie or something from New Jack City.”
Despite these claims, a judge ultimately sided with Jay-Z, temporarily banning Damon Dash from selling the rights to Reasonable Doubt.
Now, it looks like the situation between Damon Dash and Roc-A-Fella Records remains tense. As reported by AllHipHop, Jay-Z‘s lawyer–Alex Spiro–has been going back and forth with Damon Dash over the legal proceedings. Reportedly, Dash had an issue with Alex Spiro representing Roc-A-Fella, as he’s Jay-Z‘s personal attorney. Addressing Damon Dash‘s objections yesterday (Tuesday, June 29th), Alex Spiro stated:
“That’s no surprise: he was caught red-handed trying to steal and auction RAF, Inc.’s property, a NFT of the copyright to Jay-Z’s debut album Reasonable Doubt. Dash tries to backtrack, claiming he intended to sell only his 1/3 interest in RAF, Inc… That’s an obvious lie.”
While responding to Damon Dash, Jay-Z‘s lawyer also addressed the Special Board of Directors Meeting that took place on June 22nd. During the meeting between shareholders Jay-Z, Damon Dash, and Kareem “Biggs” Burke (who owns the remaining 1/3 of the company), the lawyer claimed Dash “explode[d]” in anger, saying:
“The board meeting lasted for about 10 minutes… it would have been even shorter if Dash didn’t explode in an angry, unprofessional, and incoherent rant.”
Damon Dash has not responded to Alex Spiro‘s allegation.
