Shaun King Further Explains Controversial $842,000 Home Purchase: My Wife Bought This House With Her Credit & Income, But Now We’re Moving

Shaun King has more to say after being forced to move his family from their home.

The activist received tons of criticism earlier this month after it was reported that he and his family moved into an $842,000 home in New Jersey. The purchase came amid allegations that Shaun King has taken money from charitable donations and used it for his personal gain (he has adamantly denied the accusations).

He later revealed that his family made the decision to move after the address was plastered across headlines.

Now, he’s sharing one of the special moments he and his family enjoyed in their home.

Shaun King, who has also made his Instagram account private, uploaded a selfie of his family at a dinner table. He wrote the caption,

“That’s my family a few months ago. In our home. At our dinner table. Happy.”

He added that his wife is the one who actually purchased the home, writing:

“My wife bought this house. With her credit and income. An FHA loan. In a working class neighborhood.”

He explained,

“Because we couldn’t afford to live in Brooklyn and wanted to own soemthing now that we’re both in our 40s. But now we’re moving. It’s devastating, honestly. The wife and kids have cried over this. Our home as been plastered across Fox News, across the blogs, and all over Instagram. The actual address is everywhere.”

He added,

“And it’s clearly not safe anymore – which was always the point. It’s not lavish. It’s not excessive. Those were lies. But it’s ruined at this point.”

He went on to provide ways others can help with their moving expenses and other costs they’ve had to pay as a result of their home address being made public. He continued,

“We now need to find a new home, relocate, and have 24/7 security. The costs are outrageous. And to be frank – we just don’t have it. We weren’t prepared for this. We didn’t want this. Not at all. I was minding my own business. She d*** sure was.”

He then addressed some of his critics and wrote,

 “And quit lying and saying I’ve posted people’s addresses. I’ve never done it. Not once. People are going to lie and say I’m stealing or cheating or grifting. I just don’t care what they have to say about me at this point.I just need to make sure my wife and kids and family are all safe and secure. Love and appreciate you.”

His wife also spoke on the devastation of their home address being shared in the media.
