Sports Agent Rich Paul Sued For $58 Million By Former Client, NBA Player Nerlens Noel, Claims Paul Was Too Focused On High-Profile Athletes Like LeBron James

Rich Paul has a new–and expensive–legal matter to deal with.

According to reports, sports agent Rich Paul is being sued by Nerlens Noel, one of his former clients. Nerlens Noel, who currently plays for the New York Knicks, claims Rich Paul was more focused on his high-profile clients–like LeBron James–than himself. Nerlens Noel also claims he ultimately missed out on $58 million due to Rich Paul‘s advice.

Shortly before Nerlens Noel signed with the Dallas Mavericks back in 2017, he became acquainted with Rich PaulNoel was slated to sign a $70 million deal to play with the Mavericks for 4 years, but Paul urged him to sign a one-year deal for $4.1 million instead.

The NBA star eventually agreed, but things quickly soured between the pair. During Noel‘s time with the Dallas Mavericks, he began experiencing health issues and–as a result–only played in 30 games. At this point, Noel claims Paul began to lose interest in him as a client.

Nerlens Noel claims Rich Paul was not involved in securing him a contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder, who he played with from 2018-2020. Eventually, Noel claims he discovered that various teams were calling Paul to get in contact with the NBA star, but the sports agent neglected to return the messages.

Despite the alleged mishaps, Nerlens Noel remained with Rich Paul until late 2020. However, Noel has now filed a $58 million lawsuit against the agent, claiming Paul‘s advice and allegedly poor performance led him to miss out on millions of dollars.

News of the lawsuit comes shortly after Rich Paul was romantically linked to Adele.
