Lil Nas X Calls Out Lack Of ‘Public Outrage’ Over Tony Hawk’s Blood-Infused Skateboards After His ‘Satan Shoes’ Controversy: Are Y’all Ready To Admit Y’all Were Mad For Some Other Reason?

Lil Nas X is calling out a double standard over skateboarding legend Tony Hawk’s new skateboards.

The Old Town Road rapper took to Twitter yesterday (Aug. 25th), to point out the difference between the public’s reaction to his controversial Nike bloody shoes and Tony Hawk‘s bloody skateboards.

Tony Hawk announced that he is an ambassador with Liquid Death, a canned water company known for its famous tagline, “Murder Your Thirst.”

Under his partnership, he’s releasing a line of limited-edition skateboards that include his own blood.

According to reports, Tony gave two vials of blood, which were mixed into the paint used on the skateboards.

In March of this year, rapper Lil Nas X made similar headlines after he released his “Satan Shoes.”  These were limited-edition sneakers infused with a drop of blood in the soles.  They included the scripture Luke 10:18, a Bible verse that references satan’s fall from Heaven. He sold out of all 666 pairs for $1,018 each in less than a minute.   The shoes reportedly sold out within a minute, however, Lil Nas X was scrutinized publicly and called, “disrespectful.”

A judge also ruled for the shoes to be pulled after Nike took issue with them and didn’t want any connection with the product. Lil Nas X reacted to the news on Twitter.

Since the release of Tony‘s collaboration, fans have made some comparisons between the items.

Lil Nas X also entered the conversation and tweeted,

“now that tony hawk has released skateboards with his blood painted on them, and there was no public outrage, are y’all ready to admit y’all were never actually upset over the blood in the shoes?  and maybe u were mad for some other reason?”
