‘Friday’ Actor Anthony ‘A.J.’ Johnson Reportedly Found Dead In L.A. Store Earlier This Month [CONDOLENCES]
Friday actor Anthony ‘A.J.’ Johnson recently passed away at the age of 55. According to reports, a family member of Anthony Johnson shared that the actor was found lifeless in a Los Angeles store earlier this month. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A cause of death has yet to be released.
Anthony Johnson was most known for portraying the character Ezal in the 1995 cult classic film Friday. However, his film career started a little before that when he played E.Z.E. in the 1990 movie House Party.
Anthony Johnson was also featured in many staple films and TV shows including The Players Club, B*A*P*S, Menace II Society, The Jamie Foxx Show, and Moesha.
Anthony Johnson’s reps released a statement on his passing and said,
“Our BH Talent family is saddened about the loss of an amazing iconic legend in comedy, our client and friend Anthony ‘AJ’ Johnson. We are praying for all those that were touched by his comedy, acting, but most of all his life. We are especially praying for his beloved Wife, Children, Siblings and Manager. Please give them the time they need to process and grieve such a huge loss.”
Ice Cube took to his social media accounts and shared his condolences towards his Friday co-star, Anthony Johnson. He wrote,
“Sad to wake up to the news about AJ Johnson passing away. Naturally funny dude who was straight outta Compton at the same time. Sorry I couldn’t bring your character Ezal back to the big screen in Last Friday…”
