Nicki Minaj Has 1st Live Performance Since Controversial Tweets About COVID Vaccine

It appears that Nicki Minaj has gotten past her COVID concerns as she recently gave an impromptu performance in California. Over the weekend Nicki Minaj, 38, surprised fans by performing at Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s “Back Outside” tour stop in California. The ‘Tusa’ rapper wore a Chanel blue outfit while rocking a purple ombre hairstyle.

Nicki Minaj, born Onika Maraj, performed her remix of Bia’s ‘Whole Lotta Money’ before transitioning into her verse from ‘Seeing Green.’

Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, and young son were also in attendance.

This is the first time in two years that Nicki has given a public performance. As previously reported, Nicki has been making headlines recently for expressing concerns she has regarding COVID and the vaccine. The mom of one shared earlier this month that she decided to skip the Met Gala because she wanted to do her research before getting vaccinated. While chatting with a fan on Twitter she said,

“I have an infant with no nannies during COVID. who mad? Not risking his health to be seen. One yaself.”

She added,

“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. If I get vaccinated it won’t be for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grip your head & face. Not that loose one.”

Nicki also revealed that she pulled out from this year’s VMAs over COVID concerns as well.

“I was prepping for VMAs then I shot a video & guess who got COVID? Do u know what it is [like to] not be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama? ‘get vaccinated’ Drake had just told me he got COVID w/ THE VACCINE tho so chile.”

Nicki didn’t end her COVID tweets there. The Grammy-nominated artist then shocked many people by alleging that someone she knows of had complications with their genitals after getting vaccinated. She tweeted,

“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”
