Kanye West Selling Wyoming Ranch For $11 Million, Could Take A Major Loss
Are Kanye West’s days in Wyoming coming to an end?
He has officially put his Cody, Wyoming ranch on the market for $11 million.
It sits on 4,000 acres with coveted views of the Rocky Mountain, and is 52 miles from Yellowstone National Mark.
He reportedly purchased it for $14 million, so he could millions by only selling it for $11 million. When he first bought the property, it was named Monster Lake Ranch. In true Kanye West form, he changed the name to West Lake Ranch, and often called it Yeezy campus.
He still has his second Wyoming property, located in Greybull, which he also bought for $14 million just three months after his Cody ranch.
Kanye West putting the Cody home on the market comes after he purchased a beachfront home in Malibu, Calif. for just under $60 million.
An insider described that property and said,
“With views of the Pacific Ocean, the house has straight angles … with an emphasis on light. It clearly takes a very specific buyer to appreciate this home. It was on the market … for over a year before Kanye bought it. It’s perfect for Kanye … He is very happy to be the new owner of this incredible house.”
His Malibu purchase added fuel to rumors that he and his estranged wife Kim Kardashian West are reconciling. While she filed for divorce in February, she was very supportive of Kanye West ahead of his release for his 10th studio album Donda. She not only attended all three listening parties, but participated in the final one in his hometown of Chicago and even wore a wedding dress.
He’s also said to have helped her with her SNL monologue, where she joked about divorcing him because of his personality.
In the final seaosn of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she had an emotional moment when speaking about the split, and suggested that him living in Wyoming was a factor.
She said on an episode that aired in June,
“I never thought I was lonely … I always thought that’s totally fine, I could just have my kids, my husband moves from state to state. And I just am on this ride with him, and I was okay with that and then after turning 40 this year, I realized like, ‘No, I don’t want a husband that lives in a completely different state to me.’ I thought, ‘Oh my God, that’s when we’re getting along the best,’ but then that is sad to me, and that’s not what I want.”
She continued,
“I want someone that we have the same shows in common. I want someone that wants to work out with me every single day … the little things are what I don’t have. I have all the big things. I have the extravagant, everything you could possibly imagine – and no one will ever do it like that, I know that, you know what I mean? And I’m grateful for those experiences – but I think I’m ready for the smaller experiences that I think will mean a lot.”
