Detroit Pistons Star Isaiah Stewart Attempts To Attack LeBron James After Being Struck In Eye, Both Players Ejected From Game
Did LeBron James mean to hit Isaiah Stewart during their tussle?
Yesterday night (Sunday, Nov. 21st), some drama erupted during a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Detroit Pistons. During the third quarter, LeBron James and Isaiah Stewart wound up tussling over a rebound–and the 36-year-old Lakers star ultimately hit the 20-year-old in the face, drawing blood.
In response, Isaiah Stewart flew into a rage–continually attempting to reach LeBron James to presumably fight. However, thanks to others on court, no further contact occurred between the two athletes in question.

After Isaiah Stewart was taken off the court, LeBron James was penalized with a flagrant foul–also known as a “flagrant 2”–and ejected from the game. This implies that LeBron was found to be at fault after a review of the incident.

This is the second time in LeBron James‘ career that he’s been ejected from a game. The first incident occurred back in 2017–when LeBron was with the Cleveland Cavaliers–during a game against the Miami Heat. Specifically, he was ejected during the third quarter for arguing a call made by referee Kane Fitzgerald.
In regards to the recent matter between LeBron James and Isaiah Stewart, neither athlete has addressed the situation on social media. However, Pistons coach Dwane Casey noted:
“It was a tough play with Isaiah. His eye got cracked all the way open and he was upset for a reason. I don’t think James is a dirty player, but again, it got them going.”
Meanwhile, Lakers star Anthony Davis commented:
“Everyone in the league knows LeBron’s not a dirty guy. In fact, when he knew he hit him, as soon as he did it, he looked back at him like, ‘Oh, my bad. I didn’t try to do it.’ I’ve never, in 10 years, seen a player try to do [what Isaiah Stewart did], what he tried to do. It’s uncalled for, you got a cut above your eye, accidental, it wasn’t like it was on purpose.”
