Pretty Ricky’s Baby Blue Suing Bowling Alley After Being Shot In Facility’s Parking Lot
It looks like Baby Blue of Pretty Ricky has more on his plate than just his PPP loan issues.
According to reports, Baby Blue, real name Diamond Blue Smith, has filed a lawsuit against SpareZ in Davie Flordia for being shot in the parking lot of the bowling alley. The incident occurred earlier this year on April 18. According to the lawsuit, SpareZ invited Baby Blue, 37, to the venue, however, the company failed to patrol, police, and guard the premises.
The suit added that Baby Blue suffered,
“permanent and personal injury including significant scarring and loss of his ability to walk.”
According to Davie Police, Baby Blue arrived at SpareZ about 20 minutes before the shooting incident took place. The musician said he was there to meet loved ones and stepped outside with a cousin so they could hear each other better. They told the police that while they were standing in the bowling alley’s parking lot, two men with hoodies pulled tightly around their heads and facial coverings approached Baby Blue. One of the men wanted Baby Blue to hand over his gold chain and Jesus charm. They reportedly said,
“Don’t say nothing. Take it off.”
The man attempted to yank the chain from the entertainer’s neck when the gun went off striking him in the left shoulder. According to the supplemental police incident reports, the bullet became lodged in Baby Blue’s back, broke a few of his ribs, and punctured his lung.
A few days after the shooting Baby Blue addressed what happen while in the ICU at Regional Memorial Hospital. He shared that he had been in a coma but was getting quality care. He added that he had to teach himself how to breathe and walk again.
Baby Blue is seeking unspecified damages.
The Pretty Ricky superstar seems to be making headlines a lot lately. As previously reported, last year Baby Blue found himself at the center of some serious accusations and was accused of being involved in a $24 million wire fraud scheme. Specifically, he was accused of fraudulently receiving Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and allegedly using some of the funds to make outlandish purchases, like buying himself a Ferrari.
Baby Blue ultimately pled guilty and admitted to falsifying documents to obtain 2 PPP loans for $426,717 and $708,065.
Recently, news broke that he was sentenced to 20 months behind bars for his involvement in the wire fraud conspiracy. In addition to that, reports claim Baby Blue will have to pay $1,111,345.23 in restitution and a $100 assessment fee.
