Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Backtracks Support For Joe Rogan, Says: I’ve Become Educated To His Complete Narrative
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is no longer being a rock of support for controversial podcaster Joe Rogan.
Famed Spotify podcaster Joe Rogan has been circulating headlines for his controversial statements and misinformation surrounding vaccines and the Covid-19 pandemic. The 54-year old podcaster has used his platform on several occasions to spread what many deem misinformation regarding vaccinations, asserting claims that young people don’t need to get vaccinated.
Following a disapproving address from US Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci, Joe Rogan took to his podcast to clarify his statements stating:
“This is like the thing about this whole thing this – uh people being upset at me. I didn’t say i’m, I’m not an anti-vaxx person right. In fact I said I believe they’re safe and I encourage many people to take them my parents were vaccinated. I just said i don’t think that if you’re a young healthy person that you need it.”
Rogan’s comments drew support from many active listeners. Including legendary WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who showed his support for Rogan on the podcasters Instagram with the caption:
“Great stuff here brother. Perfectly articulated. Looking forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”

To double down on his support of Rogan, The 49-year old actor even went as far as calling out some of Rogan’s dissapprovers, including former Republican and political strategist Cheri Jacobus.
@CheriJacobus
Hi Cheri,
Good morning, it’s DJ.
You’re all over my timeline so I wanted to share some context with you so hopefully you’re no longer triggered by headlines you read. I thought his response was contrite and more importantly, open to change to becoming better.— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) February 3, 2022
However, after old clips of Rogan repeatedly using the n-word over the years resurfaced, The Rock was quick to renege his support as the podcaster found himself in the middle of an entirely new problematic conversation.

Once the resurfaced clips began to circulate, many influential voices began to denounce Rogan – including R&B/soul singer India Arie who posted a video to her instagram declaring her boycott of Spotify amid the offensive videos.
After being addressed by several social media followers as well as author Don Winslow, Dwayne Johnson followed suit. The Fast & Furious star took to his Twitter page to backtrack his initial support of Rogan and addressed the matter stating:
“I was not aware of his N word use prior to my comments, but now I’ve become educated to his complete narrative. Learning moment for me.”
Dear @donwinslow

He even took the time to apologize for his initial tweet to Cheri Jacobus.
Hi @CheriJacobus,
I owe you a sincere apology.
I didn’t show up the way I would’ve liked to in our dialogue and my language to you was offensive.
I apologize.
Thank you and your followers for all the dialogue here.
Have a great & productive weekend.

Rogan has since offered an explanation for his use of the n-word stating:
“This is the most embarrassing thing I have ever had to publicly address”
And claims he no longer uses the racial slur.
