In response to growing media circulation, the Brownsville PD said they would launch a full investigation into the matter. Days later, Brownsville PD issued a statement stating that after investigating they could not validate Tisha Campbell – Martin’s kidnapping claims, nor could they confirm that she was even staying in Brownsville during the time of the incident.

At the same time of Brownsville PD’s statement release, a local news station in Brownsville reported that a representative for Tisha confirmed that the incident did not happen in Brownsville, but in the neighboring town of South Padre Island, Texas.
