Vince Staples Says Lil Baby Waived His 6-Figure Fee For ‘East Point Prayer’ Verse: He Did It For Free
It seems like being good friends with rapper Lil Baby might get you a $100K verse for free!
On April 8, Vince Staples, 28, released his 5th studio album entitled Ramona Park Broke My Heart. One of the songs on the project, East Point Prayer, features Atlanta native rapper Lil Baby, 27.
During a recent interview with media personality Big Boy, Vince Staples shared how his recent collaboration with Lil Baby came to fruition and revealed that the “Right On” rapper didn’t charge him a single dime for his guest appearance. He said,
“[Lil Baby] did it for free. And I don’t believe in asking nobody to do nothing for free. I believe in whatever you charge – you gotta feed your family, and he did it for free. And you already know, he can charge whatever he wants.”
Vince Staples continued and shared how he initially met Lil Baby.
“It’s funny because I met him at a Motown thing. We was cool and we ain’t really talk like that. And I was like, ‘Lil Baby would sound good on this.’ And I was tryna get it so where we could talk about it. He said, ‘We don’t even have to talk, I’ma do it.’ He just went and did it … he looked out.”

Vince Staples definitely hit the lotto with Lil Baby offering to jump on his song for free! Lil Baby has previously shared that he normally charges upward of 100K to do a feature on a song. Back in June 2020, he tweeted,
“Ima feel offended if you want a verse from me and don’t got a 100K.”
He added,
“Respect my hustle.”
